Tuchel relies on Parisian team spirit against RB Leipzig

Leipzig (AP) – After the failures of his superstars Neymar and Kylian Mbappé, coach Thomas Tuchel relies on the team spirit of Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League at the Bundesliga soccer club RB Leipzig.

“We are growing together in this situation. The team has to show even more mentally. It will only be about team performance. One key player is not enough, we need eleven key players,” said Tuchel in Leipzig. In the new edition of the pre-season semi-final on Wednesday (9 p.m. / DAZN), alongside Neymar and Mbappé, Julian Draxler, Mauro Icardi and Marco Verratti are also missing.

Tuchel classifies the duels with Leipzig as crucial for advancing in Group H. “It feels like a round of 16. If we win the direct comparison against Leipzig, that can be decisive,” said the 47-year-old. Tuchel does not see the 3-0 in the semi-finals in August as a blueprint: “It will be a completely different game. In Lisbon we controlled the rhythm and played very well. I now expect Leipzig to play a little more freely.”
