Emerging cricketer of Sri Lanka team Shehan Jayasuriya has decided to shift to US and he will no longer be seen playing cricket for Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka Cricket Board has given information about this. Shehan has played ODIs and T20s for Sri Lanka and is a very talented player. The Sri Lankan team, who went on a tour of South Africa, had just lost 2–0 in the Test series. Sri Lanka will host England in the Test series starting on 14 January.
National player Shehan Jayasuriya, who represented Sri Lanka in both ODIs and T20I formats have informed SLC, that he will no longer be available for the selection of domestic or international cricket tournaments with immediate effect.

Sri Lankan Cricket issued a statement saying, ‘National player Shehan Jayasuriya, who has been involved in both Sri Lanka ODI and T20 teams, has informed Sri Lankan cricket that he has been selected for selection in domestic and international cricket tournaments since that time Will not be available for Jayasuriya has taken this decision, as he is moving to the US with his family. While announcing his decision, Shehan has thanked Sri Lanka Cricket for giving him a chance as a national player. Shehan played 12 ODIs and 18 T20 matches for Sri Lanka, scoring more than 400 runs and taking 6 wickets in total.

Shehan Jayasuriya made his T20I debut for Sri Lanka against Pakistan in 2015, while in November this year he made his ODI debut against the West Indies.
