New artwork for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman imagines It: Chapter Two star Bill Skarsgard as the next Joker.
Although Robert Pattinson’s The Batman is already stacked with a number of villainous DC Comics characters, an artist recently imagined what Bill Skarsgard could look like as The Joker in a future movie with the new version of Bruce Wayne. Fans have joked about Skarsgard playing the Joker after he brought another villainous clown to life in the two IT movies directed by The Flash helmer Andy Muschietti.
Bill Skarsgard is no stranger to terrifying audiences. In fact, he’s no stranger to terrifying audiences as an unnerving clown (he did, after all, play Pennywise in the film adaptation of Stephen King’s It and its sequel). But what if he were to terrify audiences as a different unnerving clown in, say, The Batman?
Digital artist William Gray has given us an idea of what that could look like (H/T: Heroic Hollywood), taking to Instagram to share some of his artwork (which can be viewed here) which features the actor in the role of the Clown Prince of Crime, reimagining the character for the world of Matt Reeves’ The Batman.
Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.
