Phoebe Robinson is an American comedian, actress, author, podcaster, and producer. She came into the limelight with the hit podcast turned TV show 2 Dope Queens (2018). In 2016, she became New York Times best-selling writer with the book “You Can’t Touch My Hair: And Other Things I Still Have to Explain.” She is also known for appearing in the films Ibiza (2018) and What Men Want (2019).
Phoebe Robinson was born on Friday, September 28, 1984 (age 36 years; as of 2020), in Bedford, Ohio, United States. She did her schooling at Gilmour Academy, Ohio, and in 2002, she went on to pursue a course in screenwriting at Pratt Institute in New York City. Post her graduation, she joined New Line Cinema, New York as a receptionist, and later, she got promoted to the position of assistant to the head of New Line Cinema’s indie company, Picture House. Despite being an active member of the improv group during her college days, Phoebe ventured into standup comedy much later in life. In 2008, her journey as a stand-up comedian began when a friend persuaded her to take stand-up comedy lessons at Carolines School of Comedy in New York City.

Phoebe Robinson started her career as a screenwriter for the television series Portlandia (2011) and Girl Code (2013). In 2016, she worked as a consultant for the third season of the American television sitcom Broad City. Since her television debut Broad City (2014) in which she played the role of Shenae, Phoebe Robinson made a cameo appearance in the show Co-operation (2015). In 2018, she struck stardom with the hit podcast turned TV show 2 Dope Queens, which she co-hosted along with Jessica Williams.
Later, in 2020, she appeared as a contestant in the reality competition show RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race.
In 2016, she made her digital debut with Netflix Presents: The Characters in which Eight improvisational comedians performed a 30-minute stand-up set demonstrating a variety of sketches and improv routines.
In the same year, she hosted a talk show Woke Bae, and later, she played the role of Suki in Amazon Prime’s I Love Dick.
In 2017, Phoebe Robinson made her film debut with ‘In Case of Emergency’ in which she played the role of Charlene. Later, she earned immense appreciation for playing the role of Leah in the film Ibiza (2018).
Thereafter, she starred as Ciarra in the film What Men Want (2019), and made an appearance in the documentary film Becoming (2020).
