Duisburg (dpa) – football teacher Peter Neururer heads this year’s professional camp of the VDV players’ union for clubless players.
As the VDV announced, the former Bundesliga coach will succeed Jürgen Kramny, who has taken over the U19 from Eintracht Frankfurt. Neururer had already led the course in 2017 and 2018.
At the camp starting in Duisburg on Monday, the clubless professionals will be accommodated and catered for at the expense of the players’ union, and will be given medical and sports science care. This gives players the chance to keep fit and to be recommended for new jobs in test games. Outside the field, experts from the fields of employment law, career coaching and sports psychology take care of the players.
The professional camp supported by the German Football League is taking place for the 18th time. According to VDV information, “around 80 percent of the participants find new jobs on the football stage”.
