Nadiya Hussain is a British TV chef, author and television presenter who rose to fame after winning the sixth series of BBC’s The Great British Bake Off in 2015.
Nadiya Hussain was born as Nadiya Jamir Hussain on December 25, 1984 (age 36 years; as of 2020) in Luton, Bedfordshire, England. Her zodiac sign is Capricorn. Nadiya completed her schooling at Challney High School and Luton Sixth Form College. She got into a university but never had the chance to go there and study and decided to take up two jobs instead of studying.

Nadiya Hussain’s father was a chef and owned an Indian restaurant in Luton. Nadiya has 5 siblings- two elder sisters, one younger sister, and two younger brothers.
Nadiya Hussain got married to Abdal Hussain in the summer of 2005. They both have two sons, Musa and Dawud, and one daughter, Maryam.
After getting married to Abdal, Nadiya moved to Leeds, England. Nadiya enrolled herself in an open university degree in Childhood and Youth Studies. Nadiya loved baking and she would often bake cakes whenever she felt stressed. Nadiya wanted to become a social worker after completing her degree but fate had other plans. Her husband got her a downloaded application form for ‘The Great British Bake Off Series 6’ and after some persuasion, Nadiya took off to participate in the show.
Nadiya won the show in 2015 and she signed several contracts with BBC and hosted the documentary show ‘The Chronicles of Nadiya,’ cookery show ‘Nadiya’s British Food Adventure,’ and ‘Nadiya’s Family Favourites.’ Nadia also co-presented The Big Family Cooking Showdown along with Zoe Ball, a television presenter.
Nadiya Hussain also worked as a columnist for The Times Magazine and signed publishing deals with the Penguin Random House, and Harlequin. She is a contributing editor for BBC’s food media brand, Good Food. Nadiya has also written a children’s book consisting of stories and recipes, Bake Me A Story which was published by Hodder Children’s Book. Nadia wrote her first novel ‘The Secret Lives of the Amir Sisters’ with the help of the author Ayisha Malik. In 2019, Nadiya’s autobiography ‘Finding My Voice’ was published by Headline Publishing Group. The book also had some of her own recipes and poetry.
Nadiya started her own homeware appliances range in collaboration with BlissHome. The collection consists of a full tableware range, spice racks, candles, aprons, tea towels, and oven gloves.
