Early Career, Family & Education:

Mouni Roy belongs to a Bengali family from West Bengal. Her granddad, Shekhar Chandra Roy was an outstanding Jatra theater artist. Her mom’s Mukti was also a theater artist, her dad Anil Roy was an office director of the Cooch Behar Zilla Parishad. She got her education till class twelfth from Kendriya Vidyalaya in Baburhat, Cooch Behar, and afterward went to Delhi.

In 2007, Mouni began her tv career with the drama Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi playing the role of Krishna Tulsi inverse Pulkit Samrat. She took an interest and won the period of Zara Nachke Dikha alongside Karishma Tanna and Jennifer Winget. Mouni then showed up in the role of Shivani in the arrangement Kasturi. In 2008, Roy take part in Pati Patni Aur Woh alongside Gaurav Chopra.

Professional Career:

In 2011, Mouni was featured in the Punjabi film Hero Hitler in Love. Mouni playing the role of Sati in the TV serial Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev (2011- 2014).  In 2014, Mouni participated in the dance show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’s seventh season alongside Punit Pathak. Mouni came back to TV with Ekta Kapoor’s famous series Naagin playing the best role of Shivanya inverse Arjun Bijlani and Adaa Khan. The series beat the TRP outlines since its start and proceeded to so till season 2.

Mouni additionally played a role in Season 2 of Naagin. Her chemistry with Bijlani in season 1 and with Bohra in season 2 was appreciated by the crowd. In 2016, Mouni played the voiced role of Sita in the film Mahayodha Rama. In 2018, Mouni made her Bollywood film career debut along with Akshay Kumar in the film Gold coordinated by Reema Kagti. And her performance was praised by the audience. In 2019, she made a little appearance in the final few episodes of Naagin 3 in the role of Mahanaagrani Shivangi. And she additionally featured in two movies; RAW – Romeo Akbar Walter inverse John Abraham. Her performance got mixed reviews. The next film was Made in China nearby Rajkumar Rao.

In 2020, she played the role of Uma Kulkarni in her feature film London Confidential. The audience was not impressed by the film but praised Roy’s performance. Rediff wrote, “Mouni Roy shows conviction in playing her part and is in a different avatar from her earlier performances in films like  Gold and Made in China.” And she was selected to play the female lead role in Nawazuddin Siddiqui starer Bole Chudiyan. Roy also major project in 2020, the Indian superhero trilogy Brahmāstra, directed by Ayan Mukherjee. She will play the main role in the film.
