A serious road accident occurred in Maharashtra’s Nandurbar district on Saturday, where 6 people were killed when an uncontrolled vehicle fell into a 400-foot deep moat. While 18 others were injured. Police said that the accident took place around 10:30 am on the mountainous routes of Khadki Ghat, ten kilometers from Toranmal Hill Station in the district. There were 24 people in the vehicle at the time of the incident and most of them were workers.
According to police, the vehicle was not in good condition. Nandurbar Superintendent of Police Mahendra Pandit said that the incident occurred while passing through the Ghat area. The Superintendent of Police said that six people died in this accident, while 18 others were injured. The condition of seven of the injured is critical. Nine people were discharged from the hospital after first aid. Police said that the injured are being treated at Nandurbar Sadar Hospital and Rural Hospital at Toranmal.
Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government has announced a grant of Rs 5-5 lakh to the families of those who died in the accident. All those who died were tribals of Dhadgaon tehsil. The government will bear the expenses for the treatment of those injured in this accident.
