Jessie Mei Li was born on 27 August 1995 (age 26 years; as of 2020) in Brighton, East Sussex and she was raised in Redhill, Surrey. Her zodiac sign is Virgo. She attended the Reigate College, Surrey and after completing her college, she joined the National Youth Theatre, London in 2015. After a year of training at the theatre, she joined Identity School of Acting for the term of 2016-2017.

She played the role of Claudia Casswell and the show was performed at Noel Coward Theatre, London. She worked opposite Lily James and Gillian Anderson in the play.
