Jayshree Ullal, also known as Jayshree Vedantham Ullal is an Indian Indian-American businesswoman. She is known to be the Chief Executive Officer of Arista Networks. She is known by multiple names such as Jayshree G Ullal, J Ullal, G Ullal, and V Ullal.

Jayshree Ullal was born on Monday, 27 March 1961 (age 60 years; as of 2021) in London. She spent early 5 years of her life in London and later, shifted to India and pursued ger schooling at Covent of Jesus & Marry, New Delhi. She did her Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering at San Francisco State University and a Master’s degree in Engineering Management at Santa Clara University.

Jayshree’s father’s name is Sudarajan Vedantham (Physicist) and her mother’s name is Nirmala Vedantham. Her father is known to be among the founders of the Indian Institutes of Technology that was a group of higher -education centres established in India to train scientists and engineers after India received independence from the British colonisation in 1947.

Jayshree gave a startup to her career by engaging as a chip designer in a semiconductor company and developing high-speed chips for big organisations like IBM and Hitachi. She worked in the semiconductor industry for 11 years. In 1988, she proceeded to Ungermann-Bass as she evolved her interests more in marketing. This company extracted a yearly turnover of $ 40 million by developing and selling networking products. Soon, Ullal planned to join a startup company, Crescendo Communications. In 1993, it was acquired by the Cisco Systems. At that time, Cisco was a well-established firm. As the executive at Cisco, she managed its business in key enterprise markets including wiring closet switching, datacenter backbone for increasing layer 2-3 convergence, and Customer Premise Equipment for remote WAN access. Cisco was emerging as one of the leading company’s in LAN switching business with an annual sales of 5 million dollars. She also evolved as the senior vice president of Data Center & Switching and supervised more than 20 mergers and acquisitions. Later, in 2008, she pulled out herself from the company and joined Arista Networks. Andy Bechtolsheim & David Cheriton, co-founders of Arista networks, titled Jayshree Ullal as the CEO & President of Arista Networks, in October 2008. Initially, when Jayshree joined the company, it was only a 4-year old company, with an employee count of 50 people and was short in revenues also. In June 2014, after the company acquired a successful IPO, it extracted a turn over from 2.7 billion to 20 billion dollar market capitalisation on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol ANET. Moreover, Arista is a cloud networking company responsible for the deployment of 10/25/40/50/100 Gigabit Ethernet networking in the data centre.

SITA also funds cancer research.”
