According to a police source, the victim was a history teacher who had recently discussed in class the Prophet Mohammed. Prosecutors said they regard the incident as “a murder involving a terrorist organization” and a “criminal relationship with terrorists”.
The allegation is similar to the allegations leveled against a 25-year-old Pakistani man last month who injured two people to avenge the publication of the caricature of Prophet Mohammed by the satirical weekly Charlie Habado.
The attacker seriously injured two employees of a TV production agency, whose offices were on the same block in which Charlie Hebdo lived. However, both survived the attack.
