Filmmaker Hansal Mehta on Wednesday shared a picture of his son Pallava and questioned the vaccination. His 25-year-old son has Down syndrome and has had almost fatal breathing problems a few years earlier. Hansal has tweeted this on the statement of the recent vaccine from the central government. In the briefing of the Health Ministry, it was told why the vaccine is not being given to all.
Hansal asked- need or want
Hansal has written, My son Pallava is 25 years old. He has Down syndrome. A few years ago, he had a respiratory problem, which was absolutely fatal. Does he want or need a vaccine?

Demand for giving vaccine to everyone
The second wave of Corona is becoming very dangerous. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) and the chief ministers of several states had appealed to the central government to allow vaccination for all persons above 18 years of age. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, while expressing his inability at the health ministry briefing, said that it is not the purpose to give to those who want to get the vaccine, but the purpose is to give the vaccine to those who need it.
Saving the vulnerable is a priority
He said, nowadays everyone is asking this question, why is the Kovid-Vaccine not being given to all, why cannot it be given to all the adults. I say all of them, the purpose of the Kovid-19 Vaccination Drive is to fulfill two objectives – 1 to prevent deaths and to save the health care system. The purpose among pandemic is not to give the vaccine to those who want it, but to those who need it. The weakest people of the country have to be saved and this is being done all over the world.
CDC told this condition high risk
A user has also raised the question whether people with Down syndrome are eligible to get vaccinated? Hansal has responded to this, really? Please help me show the process and notifications. There were reports that vaccination would be given to people suffering from Down syndrome in India. The US Center for Disease Control (CDC) placed this genetic condition in the ‘high risk’ list.
