In 2020, Geetha made headlines for her alleged connection with the Sandalwood Drugs Scandal. As a part of the investigation, she was called for questioning by the Internal Security Department (ISD) on 22 September 2020. After questioning Geetha for five long hours, the ISD officials gave her a clean chit.
