Finn Allen is a New Zealander cricketer known for his hard-hitting batting skills. The young and fearsome right-handed top-order batsman is being seen as a rising star in the cricket fraternity.
Finn Allen was born on Thursday, 22 April 1999 (22 years; as of 2021) in Auckland, New Zealand. His full name is Finnley Hugh Allen, and his zodiac sign is Taurus. He attained his formal education from Saint Kentigern College, Auckland. He became popular while playing cricket for St Kentigern College and was subsequently drafted into New Zealand’s team for the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup at the age of 15 years.

His father, Darren Allen, is a UK-origin. His mother’s name is Leanne Allen. Finn also has a younger brother named Jordy Allen.
After making his international debut for New Zealand in the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, on 17 February 2018, Allen played his first List A match for Auckland in the 2017–18 Ford Trophy, and debuted in the first-class cricket for Auckland in the 2017–18 Plunket Shield season on 9 March 2018.
Allen came into the international limelight in the 2020-21 Dream11 Super Smash tournament, where he emerged as the man of the tournament after failing to score runs in the first few matches of the league. He scored 512 runs at the strike rate of 183 in 11 matches while playing for Wellington Firebirds.
After delivering some eye-catching performances as a schoolboy, Finn was selected in New Zealand’s squad for the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He was only 15 years old at that time. He captained the New Zealand team in the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup and emerged as the highest run-scorer in the tournament, scoring 338 runs.
A phenomenal season of the 2020-21 Dream11 Super Smash as the highest run-getter in the tournament helped Finn Allen secure a place in New Zealand’s Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for their home series against Bangladesh. Finn played his debut T20I match for New Zealand on 28 March 2021, against Bangladesh at Hamilton. The wicketkeeper-batsman did not have the best of starts to his international career as he got out on a first-ball duck in his first match and could only score 17 runs in the match that followed. He bounced back to show how destructive he could be in his third match, scoring 71 runs off 29 deliveries before getting dismissed to Taskin Ahmed. It was the second-fastest T20I fifty (50 off 18 balls) by a New Zealander in Twenty20 internationals.
Finn went unsold in the players’ auction for IPL 2021; however, when one of the RCB’s picks Josh Philippe pulled out of the tournament for personal reasons, Finn Allen was included in the RCB’s squad as a replacement player. He received the base price of Rs. 20 lakh, the amount at which Josh Philippe was sold.
