Who is Eligible for Magnet Program Certification? For the MRP to have any impact on coverage, it has to be used as a marketing tool. In order to be used for marketing purposes, the Magnet program must be listed on the Medicare and Medicaid certified provider list. A certified provider must have a listing on the Magnet Recognition Program’s certified list to market themselves as a Magnet certified facility. There are several ways to be listed on this list. - File an application The Magnet Recognition Program allows you to apply to be listed on their certified provider list. You’ll need to send in an application with certain requirements, like a Magnet survey and survey questions, and pay a fee. - Become a certified facility Another way to be listed on the Magnet Recognition Program certified provider list is to become a certified facility. If your facility is certified as a Magnet facility, you can ask to be added to the certified provider list. You’ll need to make sure that your facility is certified as a Magnet facility and meet all the other requirements to be listed on the certified program list. - Be on the Magnet survey Another way to be listed on the Magnet Recognition Program certified provider list is to be on the Magnet survey. The Magnet Recognition Program has a Magnet survey that all Magnet certified facilities must complete. Steps for Magnet Provider Accreditation The MRP has created a process for accrediting facilities and certifying providers. There are five steps involved in this process. Each of these steps has a defined timeframe and has to be completed by a certain date. - Step One - Facility Survey This is the first step, and it has to be completed before you can apply for Magnet designation.
