International human rights group Amnesty International (AI) accused France of “unprecedented assault” on freedom of meeting. French authorities “went to the size of breaking the regulation to impose fines, detain and prosecute protesters,” based on an AI report offered on Tuesday September 29 in Paris. It is predicated on surveys of 66 folks made between June 2019 and August 2020.
The group criticizes the ban on protests that was in place in the course of the March-May quarantine, the tough crackdown on the yellow vest protests, and police actions at anti-climate and anti-racist demonstrations.
